What we do

 The RHTU is working towards a model for the future of in-service training   and continuous professional development for the service providers of PNG. This will require us to:

  1. Develop & contextualise  Reproductive Health –related  courses  for workers facing the realities of contemporary PNG, particularly those working in the Primary Health Care context;
  2. Work with the decision-makers in the Provinces whose responsibility it remains to ensure that their staff ARE up to date,  adequately equipped and supported to provide these services to the people of PNG;
  3. Learn as we go, correct our mistakes, get value for money and be accountable to our partners and stakeholders;
  4. Support and develop selected clinicians and educators to be the leaders of quality RH CPD programs in to the future.

Public-Private Partnership

The Reproductive Health Training Unit is a partnership between the Oil Search Health Foundation, the Papua New Guinea National Department of Health, and the Australian Government's aid program.
