Marie Stopes Papua New Guinea (MSPNG) is a social enterprise, affiliated with Marie Stopes International, which delivers quality sexual and reproductive healthcare and family planning services to the underserved population of Papua New Guinea.
First established in 1996 in National Capital District and Central Province, MSPNG now reaches half of the country with quality sexual and reproductive healthcare and family planning services. Through rural outreach teams, urban centres, social marketing and catalytic training to public and private health workers, MSPNG ensure the individual’s fundamental right to have children by choice, not chance.
MSPNG is aligned with the National Health Plan 2011-2020 and works closely with National Department of Health and provincial administrations to increase uptake of family planning across the country. In doing so, MSPNG helps to save lives, alleviate poverty and support sustainable development.
Maries Stopes mission in PNG embodies the organisation’s philosophy: We go to work every day to enable more women to have children by choice, not chance.
MSPNG collaborates with the RHTU in implementing the National Family Planning Training Program.
